The Sugarbush Protea is South Africa's other national flower contribution to the world, less famous than the King but no less architecturally extraordinary, with a dense central cone surrounded by pointed bracts that give it the energy of something permanently mid-announcement. The Chartreuse version has rendered all of this structural drama in the most aggressively yellow-green color available, which is the botanical equivalent of delivering a very important speech while wearing a neon suit. The speech is excellent. The suit is memorable. The combination is the point.
